This beautiful and captivating setting will transport audiences into a unique musical world, in which the classical composers Liszt, Bartók, Kodály and Brahms meet traditional folk tunes and folk-inspired song. The Hungarian State Folk Ensemble orchestra performs music by these composers, along with the folk and urban Gypsy music that inspired them.

Among the most important work carried out by Zoltán Kodály, thanks to whose vision Hungarian musical education gained a reputation for excellence throughout the world, was the collection and preservation of traditional Hungarian folk music for future generations.This unique treasure continues to enthral audiences to this day.The concert by the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble orchestra features the folk music sources of such magnificent works as the Dances of Galánta, the Dances of Marosszék, the Kálló Double Dance and The Spinning Room.
A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances.
