AWS: We Need Noise, You Need Quiet / HEY, JUNE!

AWS, who formed as a high school band in 2006, are now one of Hungary's most popular modern metal bands. They captured the attention of the world when the quintet won the A Dal 2018 (The Voice 2018) TV competition and represented Hungary in the Eurovision Song Contest. This time AWS, with the help of a number of special guests, will reveal previously unknown depths to their songs, colouring their metal sound with that dolce feel so familiar from classical music. Their songs will be lent a special softness and tenderness by the piano, strings and vocals. Flowing instead of crushing against you.

AWS sang in English on their 2011 debut album, before switching to Hungarian for their second album in 2014, Égésföld (Burning Land). While they also sung in their less well-known native language in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest, they still managed to make a huge impression. The prestigious British music magazine NME wrote an article on them, while they were also invited to play Wacken Open Air, probably Europe's most highly regarded metal festival. The group's popularity was made clear when their most recent studio album, the 2018 Fekete részem (My Black Side) reached number two in the Hungarian album charts. Their entrepreneurial spirit is also evident in the fact that they can also play seated concerts as well as heavier ones: adding a classical feel to their songs with the addition of four string instruments, four vocalists and a piano. The members of AWS will show us the best of themselves by immersing themselves in the hidden profundities of their music. As their guitarist Bence Brucker explained: 'It's really exciting to transform a metal set in this way in order to succeed in a theatrical setting. We've noticed that it has a really positive impact on us, because we can let go of the rest of our style and let our imaginations truly take flight.'
